Marathon Training, Healthy Eating and My Photography!

About me and my blog!

Who am I?!

I'm Kimi!
I'm 21 and I'm originally from Northern California, but now I'm out on the east coast in Virginia! A few of my passions are running, eating, and photography. (run.eat.snap!) While I'm currently training for 2 Half Marathons and a Full Marathon, I'm trying to stick with healthy eating habits and eating more whole foods. I'm also married to my hubabub James, who loves to bring home pizza and donuts (my absolute favorite terrible things to eat), and then reminds me I shouldn't be eating any of it -_-
Disclaimer: I LOVE PUGS! So just a warning, they'll probably randomly show up around here... I had to leave my little baby donut back home in CA. :(

Long story short:
Ever since I was little I ate what ever and how ever much I wanted. Even with dancing ballet, pointe, and tap and going to karate I naturally just keep growing... width wise. I'd eat till I was painfully stuffed and gave no thought at all to the terrible poisonous foods I was putting into my body. I knew I was big but never really cared.
My Junior year of high school (2007) I weighed my self for the first time in who knows how long. The scale weighed 190 Lbs exactly. That was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen... I'm 5'1 and carrying around all that weight! I had my final supper and the next day I started my new life.

I exercised almost everyday and counted every single calorie. I completely cut out fast food, candy, bread and rice. It wasn't that big of a deal at first but it completely consumed my mind every waking minute. I started calorie restricting and wouldn't eat more than 500 calories a day and made sure I burned atleast 600. I was dropping weight like crazy and soon was my lowest weight at 117 Lbs in 6 months. I started avoiding going out to eat so I wouldn't have to worry about food that wasn't fruit, veggies, or grilled chicken.

My Senior year of high school my body couldn't take it anymore. My hair was falling out among other physical issues and my super clean mentality all of a sudden vanished. I could not stop eating again.
The past few years I have had a huge struggle with my weight. I've gained, lost, gained, and lost. Since I've started running I've learned that food is fore most importantly fuel for my body and not my enemy.

I'm using this blog to hold me accountable for actions, to keep me motivated and hopefully motivate others. I wanted to share my new running obsession while also sharing healthy life styles. I'll share how my training goes and the ups and downs of my eating (along with some recipes).

Besides all that healthy stuff, I love photography and wanted to put that up on here too! I'm also in love with Pinterest and their fitness section, so I'll defintely be trying out different things on their and posting about them to let people know what works and what doesn't.

So look around and enjoy. Ask me anything!

  2. I love your "accountability"! We all had to turn in our "accountabilities" to coach Pam of our Fab-50 running group...This is what I wrote back in May..."To inspire and be inspired by my Fab-50 running mates to cross the finish line together with total victory for each and everyone of us is my accountability." You are very inspirational Kimi!
